Now that you've discovered the secret to free publicity, and prospects,
let's bring home the profits with part 2: The Follow Up.

You're about to be "kissed". Before you say, 'ugh!', let me explain.
I'm speaking about the 'Keep It Simple System' [K.I.S.S]. This isn't
complicated.

So let's cover the basics. Your mission is to keep you and your
product/service in the forefront of their mind. Tested historical data
tells us that the 'magic' follow up number is 7 times.

You will implement this follow up via automation. Yes, autoresponders.
The marketer's best friend. If you do not have one yet, you simply
cannot conduct business on the internet properly.

One of the services I  use is GetResponse.com.  I have my newsletter
6 Figure Marketing setup with them.  But the price is $17.95 / month
for only one autoresponder.   That's much too high for a single
autoresponder solution.

 I highly recommend the source found here.  It's an all-in-one marketing
solution providing multiple autoresponders, hosting account, tracking
service, forum, resale cooperative, 2 tier affiliate program, etc.  You'll
get your money's worth from them.

With that said, let's move on.  Assuming you have an autoresponder,
you want to put your system in place. That system is content. What
kind of content?

Something free. A report, a valuable ebook, manual, course.  This
can be a 'teaser', taken from a portion of your product; a sample or
demo of your product or service. Use an ebook or report that you
have reprint rights to. Maybe it's a report that you've written on the
subject.

Your content can be a course that you've acquired for free through
one of your affiliate programs or one that you've purchased.

In part 1, you are attracting leads/prospects. In your resource
box, you are doing one of two things. Sending them to your
autoresponder email address for your free content on automatic
pilot, or sending them to your web site.

Either way, you are going to follow up. The first option is the
preferred method because you instantly capture the email address.
With the web site option, the chances of getting the email
address is less, but still viable.

Remember, your primary job is always, I repeat, always to capture
the email address. You can't follow up without a list of targeted
prospects to follow up with.

When sending prospects to your web site, you are going to use a
popup on exit. When your page is closed, a window is going to
popup providing them an opportunity to grab a desirable (fill in
the blank here) for providing their email address.

You will create a simple html page offering your report, etc that
will include your email capture form. You will obtain the code
that creates this form from your autoresponder service.

In the above example the popup takes you to another page before
asking for your email address.

So what happens after you capture the address?

They will receive your free content immediately. But you want
to follow up to make sure that they didn't have any problems
receiving what they have given their email for.

Here's the plan of action ...

3 days after they have received your free content, (if a course,
then 3 days after the last lesson), your autoresponder will send
them the first follow up message (that you have setup in advance
to send out 3 days from the last message sent) asking if they
received the 'report', for example.

With each follow up, remind them that they are receiving messages
from you because they requested your report, "fill in blank" to
prevent spam complaints.

In case they did not receive the report, or if they accidentally
deleted it, you'll want to post the report on a separate web page
by itself (like this report) and then provide a link to that page in
the followup message. This is convenient for the reader.

Or if you are offering a course, you may include your autoresponder
(email link) address again so that they can have an additional
opportunity to get the course. Don't forget to add the 'mailto:'
tag in front of the address so that it is clickable within your
message.

Always end your messages with your signature file including the
link back to your web page. You may want to include a 3-4 line
benefit statement (ie, a headline) within the signature.

Another 3 days later, the prospect will receive another follow up
message from you asking if they received the report and if you
can answer any questions for them.

But this time you'll include a reminder of some of the benefits
of your product or a couple of testimonies if you have any at
this point.

Each follow up message is pre-programmed into your autoresponder
so that the follow ups occur on auto-pilot.

Every 3 days you can follow up with a brief tip about how your
product will benefit them or make their life easier.

You may choose to offer unadvertised bonuses in the last 2
messages that would entice them to act now (if they have not
purchased yet). This is up to you.

One of these latter messages can be a 100% sales letter. You
can simply copy the content from your sales page for this.

Also keep in mind that you don't have to create 7 messages. But
I would suggest at least 5 follow ups at 3 day intervals.

After that, send a follow up once per week for the next 30 days.
Then every 2 weeks minimum for the next 30 days. These follow
ups can be tips, how-to's, etc. As long as the info is useful to your list.

For all future follow ups, send a promotion at least every 30 days.

Include special offers for your own products, for products you
own reprint rights to, or for products or services that you are
affiliated with.

The most important thing is that you are consistent. Follow up
until they either buy or unsubscribe.

Once they become buyers, you then take them out of the lead list
and put them into your buyers list. Follow up with these
individuals with buyers-only offers. They will get the best
deals/offers. Treat them like gold.

Ok, here's some homework. Create at least 3 follow up messages
for your product or service. Put them into an autoresponder.

Then put up your 'exit popup'. To help you get this going as
